When my wife and I couldn't find much in the way of Craftsman-style ottoman or serving trays, I decided this was a job for S.D. Murphy Woodworking. This is a line of serving trays with either leather or a leather-like vinyl surface. Standard sizes are 8x10 ($170 in leather/$160 in vinyl), 10x14 ($190/$180), 14x16 ($240/$220) and 18x20 ($260/$240). Custom sizes are also available. All trays will be built to order, with a likely lead time of at least 3-6 weeks. Please contact me for details. |

Similar in
style and construction to my ottoman trays, these desk
accessories are available with openings either on the end (left) or on
the
side (right). They measure 9x12 inches on the inside, although I can
build to your specifications. Shown in quartered white oak with leather
bottoms. $175 each for either
style. Lead times will typically run 3 to 6 weeks.

Small Mantel Clock |
This is an original-design clock in the Arts & Crafts style. I've exaggerated the side brackets to suggest the shape of a tambour clock. I build the clocks out of genuine mahogany finished with a slightly toned varnish. I had the faces professionally printed on high-quality parchment. Because the solid brass handles are lost-wax castings, small variations make each one unique. The clock has a footprint of 3-1/2 by 7-1/2 inches and stands 5 inches tall. Quartz movements. Usually in stock. $165 with free shipping.

I build these boxes out of cherry and finish them with a toned varnish. They sport solid brass hinges and a novel leather lid support. I have the lids laser-engraved in two designs, both derived from traditional Japanese family crests. One is a lovebird scene, the other a rice design. 7-1/2 by 9-1/2 by 4 inches. Usually in Stock. $95 delivered.
